MEMORIAL BRICK DRIVE

THE MEDAL OF HONOR PARK & MUSEUM HAS STARTED ITS FIRST MEMORIAL BRICK DRIVE.

AS PART OF ITS FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN, THE PARK IS OFFERING BRICKS FOR SALE TO HONOR A FRIEND OR SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY.

MURRAY NAQUIN, PARK COORDINATOR SAYS, "PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING US, WHEN WILL WE START SELLING BRICKS? WE DIDN'T WANT TO SELL THEM UNTIL WE KNEW WHERE WE WANTED TO PUT THEM. BRICKS SEEM TO BE VERY POPULAR RIGHT NOW AS A WAY OF HONORING A LOVED ONE."

"OUR BRICKS WILL BE SOLD FOR $50.00 EACH. THERE WILL BE THREE LINES WITH ROOM FOR 14 LETTER SPACES. PUNCTUATION MARKS COUNT AS A LETTER SPACE," NAQUIN ADDED.

SK1 DEBORAH DALKE, SHOWN IN THE PICTURE, PREPARES ONE OF THE AREAS FOR BRICK INSTALLATION. DALKE IS PART OF THE SEABEE DETACHMENTS WHO HAVE COME HERE FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS TO HELP BUILD THIS MAGNIFICENT, ONE OF A KIND MONUMENT. THIS IS HER SECOND YEAR HERE AND SHE HAS VOLUNTEERED FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT.

INITIALLY  THERE WILL BE 5 BRICK PLACEMENT AREAS IN THE COURTYARD WITH ADDITIONAL AREAS TO FOLLOW AS THESE FILL UP.

NAQUIN ADDED, "YOU CAN PUT ANY MESSAGE ON YOUR BRICK, WITHIN REASON OF COURSE AND YOUR MEMORIAL BRICK DOES NOT HAVE TO BE MILITARY RELATED. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE ALL THREE LINES IF YOU DON'T WANT TO. IF YOU WANT TO JUST PUT YOUR NAME AND BIRTH DATE ON ONE THAT'S ALRIGHT.

IF YOU WANT MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL MURRAY NAQUIN AT 504-394-2892, OR EMAIL HIM HERE.
