Louisiana's Medal of Honor Park & Museum

A group of volunteers in the community of Belle Chasse, Louisiana are working on a project to honor all of the Medal of Honor recipients in the United States at this park. "This was written in 1994! A dream, a vision, a hope for reality"

Thanks to the U. S. Navy Seabees in 2004 this dream is a reality!

 

 

On September 20, 2004 at 13:00, flags were raised for the first time.

 

 

THIS WAS THE SUNSET OVER THE PARK THE NIGHT BEFORE THE DEDICATION. AWESOME GOD! 

                                         

THE REMAINING MAJOR TASK IS TO FIND FUNDING - $400,000.00 (100,000 PER STAR POINT) - FOR THE  BLACK GRANITE THAT WILL BE AFFIXED TO THE SIDES OF THE REMAINING 4 STAR SHAPED BUILDINGS THAT WILL BE INSCRIBED WITH THE NAMES TO HONOR ALL OF THE 3,490 BRAVE MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENTS. 

WHAT A BLESSING IF A SPONSOR WERE TO STEP FORWARD TODAY, TO COMPLETE THIS MONUMENT TO, AND FOR THESE HEROES, WHO MANY, GAVE THE ULTIMATE FOR OUR FREEDOM!

THE WALKWAYS LEADING TO THE CENTER COURTYARD, WHERE YOU WILL READ THE NAMES OF THE MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENTS, WILL BE PAVED WITH ENGRAVED MEMORIAL BRICKS. THE ENGRAVED MEMORIAL BRICKS WILL HONOR ANY MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY, GRATITUDE FROM YOUR COMPANY, OR ANY MEMORIAL STATEMENT YOU WISH TO MAKE, WHICH WILL REMAIN THERE AS A  PERMANENT PLACE OF HONOR  FOREVER.
